Fashion-Smart New ISAer Uniform

The 2010 edition of ISAer uniform, invariably more fashionable that its 2004 predecessor, has been released to and worn by the learners since January this year. Though, due to the bulk of the job, only around 70% of the learners are able to wear the new uniform as of mid-February, it is however expected that all learners will have at least a set before the graduation and recognition ceremonies in March.

The new uniform comes in 3 sets: for preschool, we have cream-colored shirt jack matched with gray shorts for boys, and one-piece checkered dress for girls; for the elementary, they are cream-colored shirt jack with gray pants for boys, and one-piece cream-colored dress, checkered from waist down for girls; and for high school boys they have shirt, gray vest, neck tie and gray pants, while the girls are having blouse, checkered skirt, gray vest and scarf.

The dress and skirts of the girls are above the knee matched with long black socks.

From what we have gathered by way of informal surveys, FB comments, and the head-turning effect whenever it appears in public, the new uniform has been enthusiastically accepted by the learners, well-liked by the parents, and admired by the concerned members of the community.

ISA Celebrates Chinese New Year

The Chinese community in Iloilo City, for nine consecutive years, has been ushering in Chinese New Year with much funfare. The celebration of this auspicious event was held on 4 February at the downtown along Iznart Street. The event is joined by the four Chinese Schools and spectators were delighted to witnessed the colorful parade that commenced from the Iloilo Provincial Capitol to the performing area at Iznart Street.

After the long foot parade, majestic performances entertained the spectators as the participating schools featured Chinese traditions and culture through dances and songs.

Part of the week-long celebration was ISA’s “New Year, New Hope” presentation at SM City last 6 February 2011. ISA Springale Ensemble and Band offered the eager audience melodic Chinese songs.

Selected ISA learners from preschool to high school highlyighted Chinese culture through songs and dances. In addition, dance drama of the high school learners culminated the event depicting how Chinese culture was introduced, evolved and flourished in our country.

The entire celebration indeed has given a new hope and a new beginning to us as we go through the challenges this year may bring. Happy New Year!

JS PROM’S FASHION RUNWAY

Hotel Del Rio was once again filled with elegance, style, and glamour as the 3rd and 4th year learners paraded on their most a la mode fashion last 28 January 2011.  This year’s JS Prom is entitled, “A Night on the Spotlight” which is furthermore highlighted by its theme as “Vogue.”

Everyone agrees to call it as the most voguish and entertaining event since it’s not only all about who’s grand, and trendy, but also who are congenial with people inside or outside the ISA campus. And what’s more?

The games have indeed tested the prom goers’ stamina in dealing with muscle-stretching games which are designed to measure one’s flexibility and strategy.

Overall, the prom is, without a doubt, a rewarding experience since those who bagged the most coveted titles are indeed proven not only as stylish, but also gregarious.  This Prom’s King and Queen are Hans Christian Chavez and Mary Christine Valderrama, both Juniors.
