ISAers top 5th PRISAAP contests

ISAers won awards at the 5th English Language Festival for Private Schools-Academic, Literary competitions with its theme: “English Language Festival Paving the Way to the International Year of the Youth”.

On 7 January 2011, High School ISAers who made it to the top three were: Colyn Faith Beatingo-1st Place, Declamation; Camille Billiones-1st Place, Essay Writing; Zeth Bebit-1st Place, Feature Writing; and Mary Danielle Ricaforte-1st Place, Editorial Writing.

Mary Christine Valderrama-2nd Place, Oral Interpretation;

Jean Claire Agudo-3rd Place, Spelling;

Krisha Wee-2nd Place, Editorial Writing;

In the elementary, Matthew Baylen-2nd Place, Character Impersonation;

Karl Heinrich Serra-3rd Place, Interpretative Reading;

Hannah Labrador-3rd Place, News Writing;

The Provincial Level contests took place on 14 January 2011. The following were in the top three: Colyn Faith Beatingo-1st Place, Declamation; Camille Billiones-1st Place, Essay Writing;

Zeth Bebit-1st Place, Feature Writing; and

Mary Danielle Ricaforte-2nd Place, Editorial Writing.

ISA 3rd Place in U.P. Stat Quiz

ISAers placed third among the contestants from seven schools who participated in the 7th Inter-Secondary School Statistical Quiz held on 1 December 2010 at the UPV Auditorium, University of the Philippines in the Visayas.

ISA Math team, composed of Jan Jemi Gerwayne Tiu, Krisha Wee, and Ellijah Erl Ong, placed third after the three rounds (easy, average, difficult). ICCHS and SYSHS won first and second places, respectively.

ISAers who represented ISA were Jan Jemi Gerwayne Tiu and Krisha Wee with their coach Ms. Marichu Figuracion. They received P1000 cash prize, a trophy and a medal.

MetroBank - MTAP Math Challenge ISAers bagged honors in HS & Elem

ALL grade and year levels successfully hurdled the team elimination round in the of Metrobank - Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines - Department of Education (Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd) Math Challenge Division Level last January 13-14, 2011 held at the Social Hall of the DepED Division of Iloilo City. It was participated by 36 elementary and 25 high school public and private schools.

In the individual category, four ISAers bagged home awards.

They were warmly welcome by our Executive Director Mr. Peter M. Chan. Based on the email communication between Sr. Celine Chen (2nd from right) and Mr. Chan, ISA administration has prepared a classroom observation schedule for the visitors on subjects such as English, Chinese Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Alvin Lyndon Sy got 2nd place and 2nd honors.

Luke Kenneth Gurrea got 3rd honors from the elementary department; and Dionysius Valeen Chiu 3rd place and third honors and Kevinn Friedrich Chan 3rd honors from high School department.

Honors are given to participants who got the following scores: first honors 45-50, second honors 40-44, and 3rd honors 35-39. Placers are given as an overall performance to the participants, for the top 3 students in each level. The final round will take place in February 2011 at Iloilo Central Elementary School.
