ISA HS Math Teams Captured 3 MTAP Math Challenge Titles

Three ISA secondary Math teams made it to the top three in the 2010 Math Challenge Final Rounds, an annual city-wide tilt jointly sponsored by Metro Bank, Math Teachers Association of the Philippines, and the Department of Education. The contests were held at Iloilo Central Elementary School on 12 February.

The first to fourth year top ten teams of the secondary schools, which qualified in the elimination round held on 15 January, in Iloilo City met in the final rounds.

ISA math teams won 2nd place in first year level, 4th place in second year level,

3rd place in third year level,

and 2nd place in fourth year level. The MTAP result suggests a further step in the right direction, and has convincingly added ISA in the list of major math contending schools.

9 ISAers Won 15 Awards at 4th GASTPE English Festival

Private school learners in Iloilo City, Iloilo province, and Region 6 gathered at Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, DepED Iloilo Division, and El Grande Resort successively for the city (25January), provincial (28 January) and regional (26 February) competitions of the 4th GASTPE English Language Festival.

Among the 8 elementary and 6 high school ISAers who joined the contests, 5 in the former and 4 in the latter brought home 15 major awards.

Alyssa Faith Rivero, champion in News-writing (city, provincial and regional). She is also pronounced the regional and national champion for the News-writing contest.

Jemimah Juantong, 1st place in Essay-writing (city), 2nd in provincial;

Michelle Breindy Uy, 3rd in Editiorial-writing (city)

Chloe Lorein Cayabyab, 3rd in Story-telling (city)

Karl Heinrich Serra, 2nd in Interpretative Reading.

Norm Vincent Jalipa, Champion in Impromptu Speaking (city), and second place in the provincial level

Trixie Christine Shane Ledesma Champion in character impersonation (city), and second in the provincial level

Randolf Tom Sumaray, 2nd in declamation

Mary Christine Valder-rama, 2nd in Oral Interpretation
