7 Secondary Graduating Learners Accepted at UP and AdMU

Seven ISA Secondary graduating learners were accepted by the University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University. They represent 35% of this school year's secondary graduating learners. Those admitted by U.P. are Karl Francis Chan (UP Manila), James Eduard Chiu (UP Diliman), Camille Illastron (UP Visayas), Trixie Shane Christine Ledesma (UP Visayas), and Thea Elyza Uy (UP Visayas). Admitted to Ateneo are Karl Francis Chan, James Eduard Chiu, Norm Vincent Jalipa, Trixie Shane Christine Ledesma and Julie Rose Luz.

ISA school policy requires all secondary graduating ISAers to take the college entrance tests administered by the University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University.

4 won, 11 Received Honors in the MTAP Math Challenge Individual Competition

Four ISAers won in the 2010 Metrobank - MTAP - DepEd Mathematics Challenge Division Individual Competition held last 14-15 January at the Social Hall, Department of Education Iloilo Division.

In the said competition, the top-3 contestants in every level were chosen based on their ranks. Jian Kyle Tiampong won 3rd place in Grade 4 Level.

Kevinn Friedrich Chan garnered 2nd place in First Year Level while Jan Jemi Gerwayne Tiu and Karl Francis Chan both got 3rd place in Third Year and Fourth Year Levels, respectively.

Grade 2 Jeremiah Jedd Juantong, Grade 3 Alvin Lyndon Sy, Grade 4 Jian Kyle Tiampong, First Year Kevinn Friedrich Chan, and Fourth Year Karl Francis Chan are Second Honors. Grade 2 Jon Christi Andrea Perez, Grade 3 Kathleen Therese Tilos, Grade 4 Luke Kenneth Gurrea, Grade 5 Marion Nicole Lim and Nicole Casey Lao, and Third Year Jan Jemi Gerwayne Tiu are Third Honors.


The Individual Competition also serves as an elimination round for the Team Finals which will be held on 11-12 February. The top-14 elementary school teams and the top-10 high school teams will vie for the top three honors. For four consecutive years, ISA math teams in all levels qualified to compete in the team finals.
